Day 2 - Body & Soul

Profligate . . . .

Eric accused us of profligacy in this endeavour, profligacy of time, money and wit. I hit the Oxford English Dictionary, and thought 'Yes - fair point!' . . .

Yesterday started with usual breakfast at Jaime's 'Es Glop'. The day focussed on shaping the guitar bodies. There are going to be many days of rasping, sanding and oiling to get these fully sculpted . . . .

They may look similar but the top one is a Jaguar the bottom one a Precision Bass!

We also started work on the necks, mostly planning and templating rather than doing . . .

The guard dog, Kiko, was a little slow. It is VERY hot here, never below 33 degrees Centigrade even at night. Daytime temperatures are approaching 40 in the shade (if you can find any) and probably 45 in the workshop . . .

A few jam sessions were had during the day as we tested out the various guitars made previously.

Below you can see what Eki 'the prof' looked like before he was banished to Formentera all those years ago. The seventies were great weren't they?

Last night we heard the story of the Ibiza-Formenetera ferry, the only way onto the island, which had a slight mishap a couple of months ago. It makes the captain of the Costa Concordia look like quite a good driver!

A few libations were had at the end of the school day, followed by fine chuletas de cordero in Sant Francesc . . . .

A couple of 'fundadors' back at the ranch put me to sleep . . .

Hasta . . .
